The dashing chiselled features, swept back hair and perky bouffant. Definitely something you'd expect to find at Graceland, right?

Wrong. This carving of Elvis was created around 1800 years ago, and is in fact a genuine marble acroterion, an architectural ornament that would have been found decorating the corners of a sarcophagus, a stone tomb or burial chamber in the 2nd century AD.

It is part of a collection owned by Graham Geddes in Melbourne, and is estimated to be worth about $60,000. It goes on sale at auction in October.
